Skipper is a course app for the Day Skipper theory paper and the VHF radio exam. This page says what the app does with information.
What stays on your phone
Lesson progress and the course date you enter stay on the phone. Skipper does not have an account, and it does not send that progress to a server. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
What Skipper does not collect
The app does not collect your name, location, contacts, photos, or anything you type into a lesson. It does not use advertising or analytics. It does not ask for permission to use the microphone, camera, or location.
Payment
If you buy Skipper, Apple or Google takes the payment. Skipper does not receive your card number. Buying on an iPhone does not unlock the Android app, and the other way around.
This website
This website counts visits with Vercel Analytics and PostHog, so we know which pages people read and where they came from, such as a link on X or Reddit. It does not set cookies, and it does not ask for your name or email. The app itself has no analytics.
The certificate
Skipper does not issue a sailing certificate. A training centre does that after their exam. Skipper is independent prep. It is not an official course, and it does not use a training centre's materials.
